Social Team
Hot Dogs vs
Bashers
25 May 2008
Thrilling day's cricket at
BISS saw the Social Dogs lose by 1 run to the Bashers Social CC.
Bashers were late arriving
and sent in to bat and the Dogs struck in the first over with a peach from Prerak Patel that was caught behind. Vikas Laxman got their captain a
few overs later and things were looking good.
The Bashers got their eye in a bit and settled into some useful
partnerships that saw them amass a total of 170 runs from their 20 overs. Excellent bowling from David Frame and Damon
Palling was key to only allowing the 170.
Fielding was above average with catches coming from Ryan Saling (2 and stumping), Prerak
and Guangyu.
The batting started off a
bit dismal with Prerak and Manoj
Mehta falling quickly. Vikas and David put
together a great 3rd wicket partnership that led to Vikas
eventually retiring for the second consecutive week on 41 and David being
caught on the boundry on 37. Valiant
effort by David after having turned his ankle on about 22 runs.
With one man short due to fielding injury the Dogs were not able to see
out the 20 overs and were cleaned out one run shy of
equaling their oponents.
Good match, played in good
spirit, with (hate to admit it) good group of guys on the opposition side.
Next match is Sunday June 1 at BISS again. Right now available are
